To fix the “Permission denied” error when using Vista, change the location of the log file from C:\iTunesRemDup.log to C:\Users\\Desktop\iTunesRemDup.log

nice work! it took me a while to find you. Script is running nicely and deleting dupes as lounge. Kind weird that Itunes lets you load the same file over and over again. Windows always prompts you if you have the file already… just saying! Thank you very much for the help.

@Joey D: You’ll probably find that running the script as administrator is what you need.

Usually right click, run as administrator

Would love to use the program but am getting a window error that says:

Error: Permission denied
code: 800A0046
source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

It was also giving me issues with access denied on creating the log file, so I commented out all of the logging.

It then errored saying that object was required on ling 49 (set coltracks = objlibrary.tracks)

I’m not sure why it’s throwing that error… anyone reading this?

Love the script, but can’t seem to get it to work, errored with:

C:\Users\user\Desktop\Remove_Dup_iTunes_Tracks.vbs(54, 9) Microsoft VBScript runtime error: Invalid procedure call or argument

Any ideas?

I was just reading over this post and am quite amazed at all of the work you have done on this. I was in the process of compiling all of my songs in one location and all of the work you have done here has saved me hours and hours of agony. Thank god for scripting and gentlemen like yourself that put out good products for us that are not so skilled.
