SPAM… It’s not for dinner..

Spammers are always trying to get their message in front of peoples eyes.   If you have a blog, I am sure you have noticed SPAM comments advertising their wares.   Sometimes they just post junk trying to find blogs that are not setup to detect SPAM comments.   I for one am happy to proclaim that I am using Akismet on my site and couldn’t be happier.    My SPAM started out slow, but now I have been discovered.   Check out these stats..

It took 9 months to receive my first 1000 SPAM comments.   It took only on month to get my next 1000 SPAM comments.  That sounds pretty impressive until you find out that it took only 1 week to find get my next 1000 SPAM comments.   Currently I am getting around 130-150 SPAM comments a day. 

If you haven’t setup Akismet for your site…  do it, don’t walk..   run.   Many blogging platforms have plugins that let you quickly setup your system to us it.   You will thank yourself.. 

I received 3 SPAM comments while typing this post…  Akismet caught them all.   Thank you Akismet for helping TRF stay clean.
