FeedBurner Wide Open…
Mark up another point for Google. They have reduced the price of the subscription parts of FeedBurner (TotalStats and MyBrand) to the wonderful price of $0.. That is right, it is now free. From their blog:
Beginning today, two of FeedBurner’s previously for-pay services, TotalStats and MyBrand, will be free. Not in the sense of soaring high above the clouds or recently sprung from the hoosegow, but free like you’ll no longer gladly be billed on Tuesday for a burned feed today. We suspect this will be welcome news to the 450,000+ of you using many of our other free services, but understanding that your feed is your feed, you will need to activate these newly freed-up services in order to partake in their awesomeness.
FeedBurner Stats Pro is taking your statistics on your feed to the next level. You will now have access to the number of people who viewed or clicked the items on your RSS feed. This feature is not automatically turned on. Access your FeedBurner feeds setting’s Analyze tab, click The FeedBurner Stats and check the “Item Views” to turn the feature on.
MyBrand is a services that lets you setup a domain alias for your FeedBurner feed so to give a more professional. For example, right now my RSS feed URL at http://www.treeratfishing.com/feed will forward you to http://feeds.feedburner.com/TreeRatFishing (now would be a good time to subscribe to the link). With the MyBrand Services I will be able to replace the “feedburner.com” portion of the destination URL with “treeratfishing.com”. Since this requires DNS changes, you have to request this service under your FeedBurner account settings. You send them an e-mail and they will let you know what to do.
I have enjoyed the basic FeedBurner stats and look forward to the FREE additional statistics. While you are here.. Sign up for the TRF RSS feed.
